Test Subject Behavioral Phenotyping

Application Summary

High-throughput systems are designed for scientific experimentation and are often used in drug discovery. Using robotics, data processing, control software, liquid handling devices, and FUTEK’s LSB200 Jr. Miniature S-Beam Load Cells, high-throughput systems are engineered to analyze behavioral phenotyping (including movement, feeding, and drinking).

How it Works
  1. Home cage environment systems for behavioral phenotyping demand precise and reliable measurement instruments.
  2. Precise spatial measurement of home cage behavior is necessary in order to evaluate different products including large scale pharmaceutical designs and genetic lesion programs.
  3. Installed at all four corners of the home cage, FUTEK's LSB200 will measure the behavioral patterns of the subject as it undergoes testing.
  4. As the test subject moves throughout the cage, the LSB200s will stream the load forces produced to individual USB Modules.
  5. SENSIT™ Test and Measurement Software data logs these results on four different channels.
  6. Researchers can then compare the results of each load cell and effectively gauge the behavioral patterns of the subject.
