Municipal Water Storage Liquid Level Sensor

Everyday, municipalities treat, store and deliver, millions of gallons of potable water to support our countries insatiable water requirements. The most common types of water storage include reservoirs, tanks and towers. Once treated, water is pumped into storage for use by the local community. At this US water storage facility, an EchoSonic ultrasonic level transmitter is installed in the tank top. The non-contact sensor provides continuous level data to the SCADA, which in turn, indicates the amount of water and/or space available for additional water to be pumped into the tank.

The data is remotely monitored by the treatment plant, and used in the execution of their water treatment and storage operations. Accuracy is important give the size of the tank, where a 1” change in level equates to 70,000 gallons of water. EchoSonic is reliable water storage level measurement.
