Automotive Chrome Plating Bath Liquid Level Sensor |
When an Illinois automotive manufacturer needed reliable level measurement of their chrome plating baths, they turned to Flowline. Bumpers, grills and trim parts move through the automated line, where they're dipped into sulfuric, hydrochloric, ammonia and rinse tanks. The process is hot, corrosive and agitated, and the operators had tried different level sensors without success. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact ultrasonic sensors installed in a stand-pipe. The stand-pipe dampens turbulence and separates surface foam from the point of measurement. The ultrasonic sensors provide continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the bath levels, and refills them when necessary. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
