Transient data acquisition

Events that cause faults – whether in electrical networks or in systems – usually occur only sporadically.

A single peak can trigger an alarm. Such peaks require acquisition and analysis which needs long-term and continuous recording.

Delphin offers its Expert Transient device to perform such tasks. 8 or 16 analog tracks can be synchronously acquired in parallel at sampling rates of up to 50 kHz per channel. Data recording takes place using an internal or external storage medium (NAS). Expert Transient devices have a highly compact and space saving design.

The Expert Transient does not require PC support so data recording is stable and secure. In addition to the analog signals, PROFIBUS„ sniffing“ can be performed and the data synchronously recorded.

High Galvanic Isolation for measurement inputs

Product testing of electrical equipment requires thermal measurements on electrically live components. Thermocouples or Pt100 sensors may come into contact with mains supply. For this application, it is essential that the measurement device's inputs are galvanically isolated from each other as well as from the mains power supply. Delphin Message devices for this specific application guarantee isolation of up to 650 VAC between the separate channels, and 1000V AC to the mains power supply. The inputs are suitable to measure thermocouple or Pt100(0) sensors and current and voltage signals.

Error and fault analysis

Machinery and plant are usually controlled by PLC systems or industrial PCs. Digital and analog signals undergo complex linking via programmable procedures and algorithms. But what happens when the program fails to function in the desired way, or sporadic failures and irregular patterns begin to occur? Combined data acquisition

Sensors, actuators and controllers are usually networked via field buses in plant and machinery. In test stands, measurements need to be transmitted to centralized control systems via fieldbus interfaces. Delphin's ProfiMessage, Expert Transient and Expert Vibro devices are equipped with two PROFIBUS interfaces and one Modbus TCP, CAN and Modbus RTU interface. Measurements, computed data and alarms recorded by Delphin devices can be transmitted via the above interfaces to control systems. Data exchange can take place bi-directionally. Control commands from PLC systems can also be transmitted to Delphin devices. If a Delphin device is used for monitoring, transmission via fieldbus to a control system is especially practical. The integrated PROFIBUS interface supports a sniffing function.

Position and Time-synchronized acquisition of measurement data is important for some application.
Delphin Expert Logger can connect serially to GPS sensor, records GPS data according to NEMA protocol.
The Delphin device then compute longitudes and latitudes (positional determination) as well as speed.

Synchronised data acquisition

High precision and high speed data acquistion sometimes requires data synchronised data.
It means data are logged simultaneous internally for all data channels. In most of data logger avaible today, they log data by channel sequentially, e.g.
Power data normally needs to be acquired as AC values from the primary-side supply. Relevant here are values for actual, apparent and idle power as well as cos phi, crest factor and TRMS for currents and voltages. For frequency converters, a secondary-side measurement from DC values through to high-frequency and distorted AC values is also required.
Delphin Expert Transient equipped with 8 or 16 synchronous analog inputs and 4 digital inputs, capable of synchronously acquiring and independently saving analog measurement data up to a sampling rate of 50 kHz per channel in combination with digital signals.

Renewable energy data acquistion and optimisation

As part of German regulations on renewable energy, optimising energy use has become an issue and not just for high-consumption industries and businesses. It is often necessary to simultaneously acquire process and energy and to identify correlations between them. Delphin‘s scalable measurement systems are ideal for such tasks. Pressure leak, drop or peak in gases and liquids pipeline are serious issue in today high density living condition, also a waste of resources.
